SAmples of the new Alpha 700

need to make a clean up for the moment ... But all those picture come from directly from original JPEG of the camera and resized with 85 % compress.

Instead of being all the time on the back of the camera, if you search hard you will find one picture of me in the lot :-).

The noise , or artifact is due to the incorrect use of the JPEG. in RAW or cRAW the picture are near than perfect. The jpeg is compresse to much for the xfine and if they do not play wit the contrast and sharpness control they will have probleme.

Keep in mind that everybody here have the camera since a maximum of 2 weeks, and of a new system like that, you have to take time to feel and use the camera correctly in any situation.

12 mp is more sensitive to wrong exposure, and wrong focus or bad lens. When all the correct technics is there, this camera is a winner.

Frank hope you don't mind another question: A couple posters in the dpreview forum seem to be on a mission to prove that the noise reduction on high iso shots are producing an unacceptable amount of watercolor effect. They just recently posted a sample of a night time shot that without too much zoom does show strong watercolor. However, I'm starting to doubt the veracity of their posts because so far I have not seen any extreme watercolor or smudged NR artifacts on lowlight indoor shots of other photographers, your's for example. Do you see any problem when you zoom into or enlarge your full files? Thanks ChaChs

I have put High iso mostly to check the power of the camera at this condition and to use the best sharpness of the lens. Shooting at high iso on sunny day challenge the Meetering of the light too. I have left the SSS there for almost all the picture i think, I have play only in aperture mode. the first 50 % of the picture have been took with the 28-75D and the other with the 17-35D. Now i'm starting to play with the raw of those file, and probably will post some picture from it.

Gees, these are really great shots. REally unbelieveable dynamic range, even with dro off. The color is lush but not saturated. I noticed that most of your shots were with really hight iso. You were able to get high shutter speed and tight apertures, is that the reason you used such high isos? Also with the high iso and super high shutter speed did you leave sss off on these shots? Same with low iso shots towards the bottom of your gallery? Thank you for sharing these. I linked from dpreview. Bill
