During WW2, the germans built several powerful submarines' bases in France, from which dozens of deadly attacks against the Allied ships were launched.
At the end of the war, the bases were still standing despit many bombings and the french Navy used them for its own submarines.
The one in Lorient (Brittany) was returned to the city in 1997 and is slowly being changed in a museum with the oppressing atmosphere of its narrow stairs and corridors still in the air.



Pendant la 2e GM, les allemands construisirent plusieurs bases de sous-marins en France, à partir desquelles ils lancèrent des attaques meurtrières contre les navires Alliés.
A la fin de la guerre, les bases étaient toujours intactes malgré des bombardements intenses et furent récupérées par la Marine française pour ses propres sous-marins.
Celle de Lorient fut rendue à la ville en 1997 et devient lentement un musée avec l'atmosphère oppressante de ses escaliers et couloirs étroits toujours présente.
