Woodhorn colliery museum

The former Woodhorn colliery at Ashington in Northumberland has been turned into a museum to show a past way of life. It was a working mine from 1894 to 1981
This is well worth a visit and shows part of the heritage of the North East, and indeed the UK, now sadly defunct.
