Maya spent time in Norway with her boyfriend. While she was there, she had a white orchid, which she left behind with Andreas's mother. In December 2012, her boyfriend's mother sent a white orchid to Maya for Christmas. It was in flower at the time. Maya had to leave the orchid when she went back to Melbourne. She died 4 months later. I'm not good with indoor plants; I get forgetful and they often dry out, or I over-water things. so it's a miracle of sorts that Maya's orchid has survived. In February 2014, it developed flowers. It eventually had nine blossoms. Seven of them are still blooming, almost four months later. It's time to post photos of them, in honour of Reidun who sent the gift, and in honour of Maya and her love of orchids, especially white ones.
