Salamanca Place. Abel Tasman was the Dutchman who 'discovered' Tasmania, and for whom Tasmania was named. At first it was called Van Dieman's Land. Then the Poms (British) came in & changed the name. This sculpture is of his boat. Usually the water is running and looks a lot cleaner. My kids used to float leaves and race them down the fountain partitions.
