Tasmania isn't the native habitat for galahs, but enough have escaped from cages that now there are quite large flocks of them around in parks - and even over the fence in the school-yard paddock. These birds have a reputation for seeming friendliness, then being quite capable of a sharp, painful nip. I prefer cockatoos.
