Named , not as I've heard suggested, because they live on lava fields - because they live all over the place, but because they have a dash of red, like lava on their necks. Each island has a different form, and interestingly, they seemingly have different 'languages' - two swift bobs up and down on some islands, and three on others. Some that I saw had quite brilliant dashes of red. Anyway, no matter, I like lizards, bright or dull. i even like iguanas, ugly as they are. I like them a lot.
