A member of the guinea-pig family, I understand. One of the authors of children's books which I enjoyed reading when my kids were young, featured a creature, a capybara, from South America. My kids called it 'Cappyboppy". So here is the animal the author (I think Bill Peet) talked about. Quite obviously, I felt like I was meeting an old friend.
