Turtle tracks

Galapagos, Ecuador

After having searched for sand of a suitable temperature to hatch her eggs, then laying them, she heads down to the water. Those turtles which do hatch and survive the hazards of predators, will come back to the same maternal beach - a problem in rehabilitating turtle populations, since where they are hatched is where they return to, so if eggs hatch in an unsuitable environment, that's where they will try to return to.
