The tourist industry is trying to take great care that its greatest asset is maintained: that is the amenability of the wildlife to closeness with humans. At times it seemed that the locals got a bit fed up with the constant parade of hairless visitors, but most seemed supremely insouciant, even sometimes welcoming. This was one of our co-tourists on the boat.
