The mis-shapen piece on the top at the left, is the remnant of the former spire, downed by an earthquake a few hundred years after being built. There was a major restoration effort earlier in the 2000s, but restoring the base of the spire has proved technically difficult, so it remains uneven. It's a good reminder that the town is in an earthquake zone. Mankind might find it difficult to get up there and restore things, but seeds have no trouble and there is a lot of shrubbery up the top.
