From the Bridge. The lantern caught in the trees eventually went out and the trees didn't catch on fire, but I've heard that in years past there was a problem with the old thatched roofs and even the wooden houses, catching fire when lanterns went astray and landed before their fire was completely out, or, as in this case, they got blown off course while they were still very low. The number of lanterns was stunning. This was a fraction of a second, and the sky was as full as this from soon after dark. Massive.
Upstream in a really dark portion which I didn't photograph, there was a woman wading in the river, setting boats upright, blowing on incense sticks to get them burning properly if they still had a glimmer of light.
