For starters, at Blackman's Bay, about 20 kms south of Hobart. At the north end of the beach, there is an area of rock pools with a fascinating variety of plants and animals. It is in the intertidal area, with waves crashing in over the pools at times, and at other times leaving the pools open to view. With my camera in hand I had to brace myself against one wave which came up to my knees. I was standing on rough rock, rather than algae, so I was stable, but a strong flow of water up to the knees can pull a person off balance. This small area of pools utterly fascinated me, and although the colours and clarity are diminished by being distorted through water, some of the effect is quite delightful. Besides - it's the story of what you can find...
After that, i took shots of a group of teenagers clambering around rocks to a sheltered area at the base of cliffs. This turned into shots from the top of the cliffs, of the rescue by police and paramedics, of one of the group who dislocated his shoulder. I'm not sure, but I think he jumped into the water from a point down the cliffs, into the channel leading into a blowhole.
