Big Boy Crossing

I found this bull moose before sunrise in the sage near the fall-colored cottonwoods along the river. Of course other vehicles stop to see what I see and suddenly there are 50 long lenses and tripods following the star of the morning. He put up with the excited people following him through the trees and may have been amused when they scrambled to get out the way when he doubled back toward them. In the end, the big bull made for the river and left us all for the far side.

Yes, both Yellowstone and Teton National Parks are getting crazy crowded when wildlife are near the roads. I think in 10 years we will be only able to park and walk to viewing areas and be prohibited from moving with the wildlife...even at the now recommended safe distances.

Personally, the best experience with wildlife is out in the middle of nowhere by myself, sitting and watching.

Nice image and I like the way the light plays on it' horns and flanks.. That is exactly why I stopped going to the Park.
