A small creek flowing from the North slope of Utah's High Uintas Wilderness will merge with other mountain streams and become the Weber River that will meander 125 miles from the alpine meadows and down through the Wasatch Front cities and then into the Great Salt Lake.
Mountain Men in the 1820's to 1840's trapped beaver in streams like this until the beaver hat fashion craze died. Annual Mountain Man Rendezvous were held in these mountain meadows for many years. A hardy breed of man, the trappers explored important regions that are now famous; South Pass in Wyoming, The Wind River Range, Jackson Hole and Yellowstone.
