This stallion was one of the most prolific of the desert mustangs. He was always photogenic, and especially in a setting with back lighting (sunset). He appeared in many of my images. A wily and daring fighter, he carries many scars. (You can see many fresh wounds in this photo if you look carefully).
In this scene, he paws dirt in a show of power to rival stallions.
He is gone, rounded up and corralled with the others. He will never again see his desert home. He may have been adopted out to a new owner, or trucked off to Oklahoma. I wish I knew.
