Forgot to say... it was only 38c when we went through at about 9am, but I think it was in the late 40's later in the day even in September!!!

Thanks Mike, I agree about clipping a bit off the foreground... if I could re-shoot I'd have got closer to the rock so its closer but can still see all the cracks up close. Not to worry eh? ;-) Dunc

The driest scene I think I'll ever see!
I really like the shades of yellow here, and the different textures (rocks, cracked mud, dried vegetation) all work very well together.
I might be tempted to trim the foreground a little, otherwise perfect.
Just how hot was it?
