You're right about the rotation of course. This was (is) a very ordinary shot but the domes sort of reminded me of the saucer in 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' - thus the rotation and title. Tight crop was a compromise between trying to isolate the saucer shape, but still keeping on theme. Might have worked better with background light removed, or as you said, a much shallower DOF.

It feels like this should rotated 90 degrees - the shadows play tricks with the eyes! Good colours though. Its cropped a little tighter than I'd like, but its a unique composition. The light behind should be either in or out of focus IMO - not just slightly OOF. Dunc
