Please correct me if you feel I am wrong. I thought the natural horseshoe shape of the mountains with the clouds in the center made a natural focal point. To me it just seemed to draw one's eye into the middle of the photo. Which would leave the rest of the photo as a pleasing optical fill. IMHO In any case, thanks everybody for your comments!

Superb texture of the rocks, I can almost feel them under my fingers :)
I like how the shadows add a lot to this effect.

Good shading and detail on the cliff face and a beautiful sky. Although the shot might work better for me if it had a stronger focal point.
Regards,
Richard.

Nice one, Don. Nice layering in the image and great textures and patterns in those mountains.

I too like the understated tones of this shot. The landscape itself has enough 'pop' to make an interesting shot, and helped by the nice clouds. I'd have probably panned 10% to the left though to make the clouds feel like they're just entering the shot.
Good'un, Dunc

I like the washed out feel of the colors...it would be tempting as a photographer to oversaturate here for more pop, but this works better for the subject.
