This is a layered image of three seperate exposures

Canon EOS 30D ,Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS
1/350s f/5.6 at 20.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

the basic technique can be found here. http://luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/blended_exposures.shtml

The only diferences are, I used 3 exposures to blend instead of two. Also, These were 3 actual seperate exposure and not 1 raw file manipulated to 3 different exposure levels.

Mark, very nice job! You mean that 30D can't do this in a single exposure:?) Great red, perfect vantage point and I think the tilt gives it some extra energy.

Thyis is a gorgeous photo. It really feels like this "beast" is bearing down on you. Love the colours & lines. Care to share a bit about the multiple exposures used?
