I really like this one also - I think its the combination of the wing V shape and the pointed beak producing a sharp focal point.

Works for me. The lines of the wings and the lines of the structure draw your focus to the focus (bird's head) rather nicely. The lighting is an added bonus that heightens this effect.
Very nicely done.
At the expense of 'realism', I might be tempted to 'clean up' after the bird.
