The product of a truly creative and innovative mind. Just to crack the idea for a photo like this is impressive. The result is great too of course. Hats off, John!

Thanks Ron and all. Let's remember to remain objective and see what's on the table (no pun intended) at voting time. There's still plenty of time for more entries to come along, unless of course I can figure out how to stop people from posting more images in this gallery. ;^) John

JDU - This shot gets my vote. I didn't know water drops could look so irregular nor do I know of anyone who gets such consistently interesting and varied shots without leaving home! Your imagination is awesome!! Thanks for being inspirational.

I love this, punchy colours & a surreal feel to it. Excellent!

Simply stunning!

Georg, I already did one, but the water drops were a bit low and in need of topping up. My aim is to reshoot if I make time. I can guarantee that you won't expect what I have in mind. ;^) John

John, I think I can guess what you have in mind and am already looking forward to that shot ;-)

Mike, funny you should mention faces. Stay tuned and you may get to see an answer before C40 is out. ;^) John

John,
What can I add? A fabulous shot indeed.
I wonder if the same trick would work for other objects, faces perhaps?
Mike.

John, Australia should hire you for their next advertising campaign. Very nice technique and pleasing repetition of blues.

The "Turning The Tables" is definitely better! Ubrellas in waterdrops instead of -the usual way- waterdrops on umbrellas! MCsaba
Guest 15-Aug-2005 11:13
Thanks Csaba. Better title?
John

Very impressive colors and shapes, good to see such an achievement from a customary mirror-waterdrops setup! A better title could reflect more on what you want to express with the shot. MCsaba

Amazing shot John. Brilliant colors. a nice pattern in the water drops and each one is distinct in color and pattern. Really amazing. Marc

Fantastic vibrant shot, JDU. Hats off. Is everybody using mirrors these days ;-) (JK, but just happened to post something in the STF challenge 99, and saw a header image, also using a mirrored object...).

Thanks Bob. I prefer to avoid borders these days, except maybe for special effects, so I'll leave it as is.

This is a "wow" shot! Looks like it was created by a graphics program, not a photograph! JeffryZ

Great colors and the flash behind the umbrella was a terrific idea - gives wonderful highlights. Certainly plenty of repetition here, but the variety of shapes keeps it from being boring.
One thing I might do is to add a frame/border for this one, nothing elaborate - but because the drops spill off the edge, this may help 'contain' them from the screen's background.
Another wonderfully execute shot.
