Thanks for the comments. John: The glow on the nail was there all along, it is reflection from the wood underneath. Plamen, the glow on the handle is also just light from the wood below, it was a fortunate side effect of the lighting angle I had to use to get the light on the head of the hammer.

Ord, is that glowing nail a new addition? I don't remember it from yesterday. It seems to connect with the hammer quite well.

Both this and the comp entries are terrific. I'd give this one a slight edge though because I think the hammer handle in the comp entry is too centered - much like a landscape with the horizon running right through the middle - it drains some of the energy from an otherwise dynamic shot.

Ord, great image. The arc is very good now and I like the simple composition too. The hammer might look slightly better if it was a bit brighter, but that might even drown out the arc too much, so not a big consideration. I prefer this shot over your original. For me, its simplicity and better connection of the elements create greater impact.
