Now this one is funny :-) I never though someone'd go for such an idea but I agree -- I'd like to see more choc-addicts than drug- or violence- addicts these days. Bob, I really love this image and found it to be higly entertaing and well executed, thoughful concept. Thank you!

Thanks for the explanation Richard, makes a lot of sense. I'm not sure if I'll be able to play with this one - but one more thing for me to be aware of.

I meant because they weren't in focus. From a compositional perspective, the syringe appears framed by the three elements - the spoon, the matches and the candle. Having two of the framing elements out of focus and one in focus, didn't feel quite right. I think the shot would work better for me either with all four elements in focus, or else just the syringe. While the spoon is clearly in dof, but it could possibly be darkened, placing it more in the shadow. This would help allow the eye to focus on the syringe as the main picture subject.

Creative idea, very strong initial impact! Well arranged picture elements. I am assuming the dof is intential, but in this instance I think the picture would work better for me if the background items were within dof. The matches and candle appear somewhat ancilary. The black background works well, echoes the chocolate elements nicely.
Very good shot.

Great idea Bob. The reflection with it's double imag adds to the surrealism of the effect, implying that the substance is doing its thing to the viewer. Good choice of focus/DOF and background too.

I find this image fasinating and distrubing. A great use of chocolate and truely insired concept.
