Thanks, this is a valley in on the Appennini range in Italy. These montains are older (and so much lower in altitute and gentler in shape) that the Alps and Italians have been building houses ( and churches) there for a long time. Bobbio, which is very close to this place was funded in 600 AC. I am not aware of any stability problem up there. The biggest threat to all the small villages in the more remote parts of the valley is local people leaving for economic reasons (something definetely not unique to Italy).
Hi Claudio, a great shot. It looked a little ordinary as a thumbnail, but the full size fills in the detail and gives the true sense of the grand scale. Also, just curious - are the rocks stable, is the building in any danger?
Richard.
