uphill - niamh

this is a detail of castlerigg stone circle, near keswick in cumbria, uk.
i had imagined that getting there early on a sunday morning i would be the only person there,
but not so! there were at least six different groups of photographers, all of whom (except me)
had tripods and SLR gear! it was a bit of a nuisance because they had set themselves up in a row in
front of the stone circle, so i could not walk round it to get a different view. i waited and
waited but NONE of them moved, just kept snapping away at shots of EXACTLY
the same view over and over again for at least half an hour. i got sniggered at by a couple of
them when i got out my little A1, too. Hmm. ;)

I am fascinated by the stones and would love to see more shots from this place. also agree about the contrast, I think you could give this shot a bit more "pop", but there is nothing wrong with it as-is!

thanks for your comments guys... sadly did not see them in time to do anything about the contrast. :( Oh well, there is always another challenge...

G'day Niamh. Nice scene well composed. Good job on cloning out those arrogant photographers too! ;o) While this looks early morning, I'd still be inclined to consider tweaking the contrast to give it a bit of a boost. Cheers, John

Ahh! the ups and downs of a prosumer photographer LOL! I like how you capture the soft and fuzzy early morning atmosphere.
