As I said in the WDYST-thread, I think this is a very good abstract. As a matter of fact I think it's one of the best entries so far in the competition.

Thanks all for the comments. I too toiled with the deffinition of 'abstract' until I relized that the deffinition is somewhat 'abstract'. That said, in my mind this shot of my 3 most closely comes to what I think of. but the great thing about this type of competition is that it's up to each of us to decide the meaning of the word and shoot accordingly and vote accordingly.

I did desaturate this pic a bit to deemphasize any color but I didn't want it a pure monochrome (B&W) either.

You make it hard for me to choose, Marc. But I know your name will be high on my voting list...
Superb pic btw.

Tom : I would suggest to stop searching for "the" definition of an abstract (anyway, I did...). If something is abstract enough for you, chances are it will be for another too ;-) From the examples here in the gallery, I think most people get the idea...

I really like this one too. Simple, yet effective. At this point I have no clue what "abstract" really is, but I would say this is close.

Isn't it funny how different people like different things? Of the three, this is my favourite of yours. I like the monochrome nature, the regular patterb and the added interest it the variarion of texture and angles. Great stuff... Slartibartfast
