Precipice by Veronica

While relaxing at an evening concert in the park, I noticed my husband's profile
bore a strange resemblance to the faces on Mt.Rushmore. http://www.mtrushmore.net/
Forgive me, Honey.

A candid of someone you know - novel!

Natural light to bring out all the character of the human face. Whilst I was scrolling down to see others comments I ended 'cropping' across under the nose and that gives a very strong graphic like image.

Veronica,

Great treatment of the "edge" profile here. He, he...

Excellent portrait, the close crop works really well.

I didn't think there would be a problem because Allen is so easy-going. However, he was distressed to see his whiskers so untidy. He's a very meticulous man & if the whole BUNCH of you were going to see him he wished he'd been better groomed.Silly guy.

He, he, he... This one is too funny. Great humor and comparison :D

I am dying to know what hubbies response was? Or did you never show it to him? I guess he is a good sport. I also like the light on the nose and chin. It gives the pic just that something extra.

thanks all who commented... the shot was intentionally tight, hardly cropped much at all. And Claudio, the white line down the nose was a pleasant surprise when I viewed it from the computer.Took several...liked this one best, though, might try again with some different numbers.V.

Nice profile, filling up almost completely the frame. As far as the details are concerned : in this case I would rather avoid them (and focus on the profile) -- no offense taken I hope, for your husband ;-) I would try a 'low key' approach ?

The backlighting on the "edges" works wonderfully. Very original and very well done. I hope he has forgiven you, since this is such a nice entry!

I like the detail and composition of this unusual interpretation.

I think this is a very original contribution. It also has great detail (e.g. the small hairs on the nose). Good composition also. One of my favourites so far.

Hi Veronica,
Maybe you should change the name of the picture to 'Mt.Rushmore'! Nice edges indeed. I like the detail and the composition - strong. Those lines really stand out with few colours around them.
Cheers
