Thanks to all of you for your input. I appreciate it!

Veronica ... by "overlap", do you meant that I should atempt to, in some way, connect all of the objects so they do not appear to stand alone? To be honest, I just started doing still life shots this week, and I have found that I love doing them. Any critiques are welcome as I want to improve my technique.

I have some more here:http://www.pbase.com/rommaker/available_light ... would love to hear critiques on these as well.

Thanks again, gang!

Love it. The blue in the bottle is exceptionly luscious. Great idea as well. Next time you set up a still life like this, see what happens if you start to "overlap" some of the objects. Each piece seems to stand alone, and the composition is weak. See how the blue glass is sitting on the red cloth? That's what I mean by overlapping. Do it some more.Sorry about the discourse, but your image was so pretty I felt the need to critique.Well done.

Rommaker, what a wonderful photo. I really like this one. Great color and I like the way you have arranged the items. Great job!

I like the interplay of the bold reds and blues with the softer alabaster and painted pink rose pattern of the porcelain an almost pastel-like blue fabric. Very nice.
