A bit more info on this picture...

It was taken at just gone sunrise one winter Sunday morn (the joy of winter, Sunrise being at 8 am ;¬) - I was wandering around and got a lot of really nice shots. I took several of this puddle and the apple, all from different angles, and this one just seemed to work. Nothing was staged, and I got a few wierd looks from the other people wandering the square at that time.

The full gallery of my winter pics around Oxford can be found here:http://www.pbase.com/pingu/winter_03

Hi Alex,
Nicely composed. I wondered whether you would bring this worthy composition out when I found out the topic.
Cheers, John

Do you carry a bag of apples round with you Alex? ;) This 'un, strategicaly placed within the frame, makes this shot! Although perhaps in a "student town" a beer bottle would be more appropriate LOL! ;) I really like the warm colour of the stone contrasted with the muted green/blue of the puddle. I'm impressed that you saw the potential of this and stopped to shoot it, when many people (including myself) would have just passed it by.
