Thanks for the comments John, appreciated and understood. Thanks also for the downsize, I sadly didn't pay attention to the size (other than dimension) when uploading it. At any rate, until you pointed it out, I hadn't noticed the horizon not being level, but considering how fast I composed the shot, it's no huge surprise (I should fix it in PS). No bracketing, one shot was it, the temp that day was near (or below with wind chill) zero and I had no gloves on.

Well your pic certainly conveys the title and vice versa. I don't see the alone theme in this one, either from the title or from the pic itself. There does not seem to be a subject to be alone, unless it is the understated pole to the right, or perhaps the photographer himself, but that is getting a bit too obscure. Also, I am distracted a bit by the horizon not being level. However, I like the framing and the sense of isolation. If you could have included a more obvious subject, this pic would have been much stronger in the context of Challenge #4. Overall, nice pic, but missing something for this gallery.
On a technical note, your pic was over 400kB in size, so I have resized it to about 140kB in line with the rules to make it quicker and easier for people to view and use less of the precious storage space in the pbase account.
