Hi John, I really like this shot but couldn't you have cloned out those branches?:) Seriously, I like the branches in this one, they add some interest to his back and somehow almost follow the pattern of the feathers and the slope of the wings. I like the way the dark part of him blends in with the busy detail of the branches above. He looks like he could be a part of the tree but then your eye is drawn to the white feathers in the tail and his head, with that dangerous looking beak and unblinking eye. I think bird photos taken from the back are special because of the great feather detail there-you have captured that very well. Very nice shot-thanks for entering.
