I came across this sad sight during a walk on a local beach. This Little Blue Fairy Penguin had died and was floating in a shallow rock pool. These are beautiful little creatures found around the coastlines of New Zealand and Australia. It is possible this one had been attacked by a large gull or hit by a boat.
