Cathy Fromme Prairie is one part of the natural resources and open land areas between Loveland and Fort Collins. It is 240 acres of land open for public use with a wandering trail between Shields and Taft Hill Road. You will find prairie dogs barking at almost any time of the day, hawks and owls can be seen soaring above looking for the prairie dogs, and coyotes can be heard late in the evening. I wandered out there this morning with camera in hand. The weather had a winter feel as it was cloudy and windy. Snow flurries began later in the morning and then broke into bright sunshine later and clear skies. Everything is still in its winter colors as this image shows. But, soon spring will be here and colors will change with the season.
