The annual Waterloo Classic Road races started 33 years ago as the Waterloo 10km classic and has grown to become a 10km, 5km and 3km run. It's been a major fundraiser for local charities and Heartwood Place was this year's recipient. Runners were given pledge forms to recruit sponsors and win prizes based on amounts raised for this wonderful organization that provides affordable housing. Mary Bales of Heartwood Place asked me to take some photos which I was happy to do, being a former runner before my lung transplant. More than 1,400 runners participated this year and hundreds of volunteers made sure the races went off smoothly.
