Old house.jpg (8/26/04) (841)

Somewhere in Peoria

Another of the homes I pass on a regular basis.
It has an 'old' look about it. So I made it a B&W.

Awesome, this is a picture worth a thousand words. I especially like the air conditioner placements and the people on the steps, you have captured the home perfectly.

It's a lovely old house!

I lived in a house sort of like that once a long time ago. The stove had wooden handles on it for the burners, and the oven was to the left (and even with) the burners. Anyway, nice capture. Probably look good in sepia as well! :-)

Lovely old house, and the B&W works well! If those walls could talk, it would be some pretty interesting stuff I'm sure!! :)

The first place that I lived in as a married woman had the bathroom in the turret and the kitchen in the foyer at the front of the house and a murphy bed in what was the upstairs sitting room of the house. A three level apartment.

A very BIG old house... is it one home, or has it been divided into flats, I wonder?
Guest 26-Aug-2004 23:20
I wonder if that's the house they used in The Money Pit.Very nice shot.

Awesome old house, and B&W just gives it the perfect mood. It's amazing to think how houses used to be built, and look at the track houses now. Wow.

Following on from Jude's point, I remember going for my first ever job interview inside a 'turret' like that. I got the job and as a junior clerk as was sent on all the errands and found loads of secret passages too(sadly, not used to their fullest extent...)
