I was in a similar vehicle, about the same distance from the lions. Provided you stay in the vehicle and don't stand up, you are effectively invisible to the animals.
These are only cubs, but I have been a lot closer than that to lions, leopards etc. They never attack, or even take much notice of you.

Wonderful picture. I am wondering how can you go so close to the lions. Won't they attack on a bad day!
