Journey Through The Andes

Photos from a journey through the Andean nations taken in June of 2004. I first traveled to Peru, visiting Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. Then it was off to Bolivia to explore the markets of La Paz and the beauty of lake Titicaca. Then, I traveled to Ecuador and visited the capital city of Quito as well as the metropolitan Guayaquil, the volcanoes and Indian villages of the Otavalo area, and finally a 4-day, 3-night expedition through the Galapagos Islands aboard the M/V Santa Cruz. I ended my trip in Panama City, Panama.

Loved this gallery! My wife and I are spending two weeks in Ecuador and Peru, including the Galápagos Islands in a couple weeks so this prepared me for some of what we will experience!

Hi Matt Im here in Peru now as we speak, wishing I had also included Machu Pichu in my schedule. Iv been to Lima and now I am in Piura. Thanks for sharing those photos they were so beautiful great shots.

Hi,
I am a college student graduating soon and thinking of traveling in South America sometime in March-April next year? Do you have any advice on what itinerary I should follow. I would ideally like to explore a lot of nature and not spend too much money. I have this idea in my head of going "through the andes" or going "through patagonia" but I do not know what this would entail or how much it would cost...Could you please advise me on what I should do?

This has inspired me to travel to the rest of South America. Peru was great in 07 now I look forward to the rest in the coming years.

Your photos are wonderful. May I use two of then that depict llamas in Peru? I would like to display them on the classroom computer while I teach the class about llamas.

I fly to Peru with my wife in just under four weeks and browsing through your photographs has put big grins on our faces. I am a budding amateur photographer with rather basic equipment and little skill but hope to get some good results from the ample material you have captured so well.
