The scourge of the South is the annual practice of cutting back Crape Myrtle trees. This practice is not necessary and proof of that can be seen all around town every year starting in late June. These large Crape Myrtles have not been pruned and they just do their thing. Sometimes known as the "Lilac of the South", these beautiful trees will continue to bloom until late fall.
