This is Dogwood and I fell in love with it while living and teaching in America for a year! It was so beautiful as an understory in the woods and in public places (Washington DC especially) that I planted a tree back home here in my Melbourne garden. It did well for many years and then just died during a long dry Summer drought. Your image is lovely. V
