It's a dragonhunter, Hagenius brevistylus. Beautiful photo.

Hi, it's surely a dragonfly, maybe from the Libellula genus. The white strings are left overs from the emergence, just like the empty larvae shell (exuvia). They are cast skin from the adult dragonflies trachea tubes, that it use for breathing air. You can see them coming out of the dark exuvia clinging to the tree underneath the dragonfly. The strings are not attached to the dragonfly anymore.

It's a beautiful picture of a dragonfly emerging from its pupae. I think the string-like things are the trachea of the dragon.

I believe the critter is molting. I am not sure if it is a dragon or a cicada. There was nothing tied (and I don't know what the string-like stuff is). The whole scene was untouched by me.
