4-08-04 The Old Homestead

A house that I pass on my way to work. Finally stopped today, and took several pictures for my gallery. It looks like it was a small one room house. Possibly a share-cropper's home from the 20's, 30's or so. I love to think of all that happened around that fireplace.

Excellent shot Mark. Nicely composed with contrasting "texture". I like it... a very typical southern scene. At my grannie's house in south Alabama there was an old, ramshackle building like this on one of her pastures. I was fascinated by it as a child (at that time it was being used to store hay, but in my mother's childhood a family had lived there).
