This is a composite of the picture that I had visualized in my mind. However, the only one lucky opportunity to capture the pelicans in flight was on a sunny cloudless day. There were actually two more birds in formation above these three but, unfortunately, they were merged a bit. I also had some beautiful sunsets but no birds. Luckily with Photoshop it was not much of a task to select for the birds from the daylight pic and paste them into a sunset, darken them and redden them to form the partial silhouettes. So the photo I wanted had to be created.
