In El Paso County, Colorado, out on the state's eastern prairie, an extraordinary little county park (but see the final photo--a sign identifying this place as a unit watched over by the National Park Service) made for a delightful visit. Had I been more able-bodied, we would have enjoyed some walking down in among hoodoos made of colorful eroded minerals, collected and used centuries ago by our first peoples. An effort is underway to upgrade and improve management of the park to save it for a little longer.
