When she stays, she stays here...for an hour or so, lying placidly, chewing her cud. When she goes, she's gone...she just drifts away. A few more days usually go by before we see her again. This visit, however, was the 2nd in 2 days. She chooses to lie in the same places, so we figure it's the same doe. When we arrived here in April, a herd of 17 mule deer circulated in the area; now in August it's down to 2, maybe 3...or just Rosie. We see injuries on her; we don't know if she's been hit on the road or swiped by a bear, or has mange, or what.
