The name fascinated me for 20 years before I decided to lead a trip there so I could see it.
As things turned out, the trip focused on plants along the creek near the northern base of the mountain, but later I did
get to visit a high point from which we could see the peak. Two friends have walked that trail-like ridgetop
in late May to reach the top.
