Acer glabrum and Prunus virginiana in profusion shelter the creekside glen where I camped undisturbed,
watching violet-green swallows wheel in the sunlight high above, and hearing the screams of a young red-tailed hawk from my left
and cries of two large young falcons from my right. Along the creek were house wrens, warbling vireos, and Swainson's thrushes.
