Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument

Nestled in the mountains north of Leadville, Colorado are the remains of a bustling military training encampment.
Hardly anything of that use remains but we are fortunate that signs abound to describe that life.
The Internet suggests that the Forest Service coordinates other types of current uses.

The 53,804-acre Camp Hale-Continental Divide National Monument consists of two units on National Forest System lands
in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. "The national monument builds on years of efforts from the descendants of the 10th Mountain Division,
Colorado veterans, federal, state and local elected officials, many surrounding communities, conservation and outdoor recreation advocates,
and local business owners, to recognize and preserve this area's important historic, prehistoric, natural and recreational values."
