With four different spaces to roam, Brian Booth State Park was quite an adventure. The visitor facilities at Beaver Creek Natural Area were closed, so we enjoyed hummingbirds on the porch and tried some trails; the real way to enjoy this place would have been to rent a kayak and paddle through the marsh using the beavers' waterways. Downriver, we came to some splendid mushrooms at the boat landing. The picnic park leading onto the beach was most exciting, with more mushrooms and some berries. The beach, wide and sandy, was a grand place for dogs to play; I don't imagine the birds were as happy to see them as they were to be there.
