Ash Meadows is a place recovering from many decades of harrowing misuse. Now, boardwalk trails help save some of the fragile soils. Desert pupfish, the tiny, darting creatures who underpinned the Endangered Species Act and were the reason for saving the habitat, are now apparently happily enjoying the clear, flowing spring water.
